Internet D&D Questions Issue 2

Alright, welcome back. This is my second time trawling the internet for questions to answer. And let me say, I enjoyed more then I thought I would. If I continue to enjoy it, that means I have a new hobby! 1. Tinker rogue weapon/tool ideas Wow, this one's really interesting. Let's see how many I can come up with 1) Alchemist's Fire: Not actually my own invention, but definitely belongs in the list. PHB pg148. 2) Smoke Stone: Little stone, fired from a slingshot. On contact, heavily obscures the area with smoke for several rounds. 3) Sticky Slime: Green slime in small glass jars. Throw at enemies and the glass will break, causing the acidic slime to stick to your target. 4) Endless String: Looks like a small ball of string. The more you unravel it, the more string appears.Able to hold much more weight then should be possible. 5) Skeleton Key: Magical key that opens all locks. Well, that wasn't as many as I'd thought :( . Oh well. 2. Planning a 5e Planesc

Internet D&D Questions Issue 1

OK. I decided, for something to do in my spare time (it does say hobbies in the title), to trawl the D&D sections of the internet and attempt to answer cool questions that were - in my opinion - never satisfactorily answered. 1. Where do the D&D 5e Books List Potential Curse Effects to Use for a Cursed Magical Item? Wow, I love this question. Well, not exactly this questions, but the fact that, now I realize it, there aren't many possible curse effects for magic items in 5e. Well, there are, but not many made for you. You have to come up with them yourself. The answer does a pretty good job of explaining it, but I want to challenge myself by coming up with at least 20 curse effects. Lets see what I can do! d20 Curse Effect 1 All mortals must succeed on a DC 14 wisdom saving throw to maintain any information about the item. 2 The item’s owner becomes attached to all their material possessions, and must succeed on a DC 12 wisd

World Enough and Time Review

Alright! Part 1 of the finale is over, and, once it finished, I was pretty much screaming. I mean, really. How could they leave us on a cliffhanger like that? Before we begin, let me just say that this post will (obviously) contain spoilers. The episode starts with the doctor leaving the TARDIS somewhere in the snow, then looking like he's about to regenerate. Then the scene ends. I guess this is where he'll regenerate next episode. After that, Missy, Nardole and Bill went to a 40 mile long colonizer that was slowly leaving a black hole's gravitational pull. The idea was Missy would be given a "test" to see how good she was. Pretty much the moment they arrived, a blue man turned up and threatened to shoot Bill, saying she was the reason "they" were coming (she was the only human). Then, something started coming up the elevator. The Doctor arrived and tried to save her, but he shot her. Then, these people with white bags over they're head came ou

Quick guide to doctor who series 10

OK, this is my shot at providing all the essential info about Doctor Who for someone who's watching the episode tonight as their first ever Doctor Who experience. The Doctor, the main character, is a time lord from Gallifrey. His species can "regenerate" 12 times, which means when they suffer a fatal injury, they instead get a new face. This is how they get new actors for the show. The current doctor is Peter Capaldi. The Doctor (That's what he calls himself. His real name is unpronounceable) flies around in an old fashioned police box (It's bigger on the inside) that can travel through time. He pretty much just goes around saving people, but (sorry war movie fans) hardly ever kills people. In tonight's episode, one of the main characters is Missy, or the Mistress. She's another time lord. She used to be the Master, but he regenerated into a girl. Missy/The Master was one of the Doctors arch enemy's. A while ago, The Doctor was going to execute her,

Hello!

Hello! This blog combines information about Dungeons & Dragons, Doctor Who and a few other things. Most of the things are stuff I'm into, but some of them I'm just as clueless about as the next guy. This blog was originally going to be about D&D alone, but decided that that wouldn't provide enough for me to talk about. My next post will almost definitely be about doctor who, as the first part of the finale is on tonight. Sorry this post is super short, but it's just an introduction to my blog. The others will be longer, I promise. P.S. I know "hobbies" in the URL is spelled wrong. It's just that www.randomhobbies.blogspot.com was already taken. Not that there's a single post  on that blog. So, I'm stuck with "hobbys".
